Cowboy Lace Up Leather Pants
Lacing is the oldest way of closing the outside of a leather trouser and it is still the most practical, because leather does not stretch and a sewn leg has to be right the first time. On these cowboy lace up leather pants the outer seam is left open and closed with leather lacing through metal eyelets, so you set the width of the leg yourself — tight over a boot or loose over a heavy one.

The problem lacing solves
Calf and thigh are where most men find leather trousers fail. A leg cut to a standard measurement either will not go on or hangs loose, and there is no give in the material to bridge the difference. An unlaced outer seam removes the problem entirely: the leg opens as far as it needs to and closes to whatever width you want.
It also means the trousers keep fitting if your build changes, which a sewn leather trouser does not.
Build
Eyelets are metal, set through reinforced tabs so the lace does not cut into the hide. The lacing is leather rather than cord, which lasts far longer and does not fray. The waistband is faced with a zip fly and belt loops, and seams are double stitched.
Eyelet spacing is set by hand and has to be even down the whole leg or the lacing pulls crooked, which is why these take longer to build than a plain pair.
Western cut
The leg is cut to sit over a boot rather than tuck into it, which is the western way and is what the lacing is there to accommodate — open the lace and the leg clears a boot shaft easily.
The rise and seat are cut for riding comfort rather than a slim fashion line, so these are roomier through the hip than a fashion leather trouser.
Fit and styling
Take your normal waist size — the lacing handles the leg, so waist and inside leg are the measurements that matter. Custom is free if you are outside standard sizing; send waist, hip, thigh, calf and inside leg.
Boots and a plain shirt is the natural pairing. They also work under a western vest or with a leather shirt from our Men Leather Shirts. For plain trousers without lacing, see our Men Leather Pants, and for jackets our Men Leather Jackets.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the lacing adjust the leg?
Enough to take it from close over a slim boot to open over a heavy one — far more range than a sewn leg allows.
Is the lace leather or cord?
Leather. It lasts longer than cord and does not fray.
Will the lacing cut into the hide?
No. The eyelets are metal, set through reinforced tabs that spread the load.
Do they go over or into boots?
Over, in western fashion. Open the lacing to clear a boot shaft.
What size should I order?
Your normal waist size. The lacing handles the leg, so waist and inside leg are what matter. Custom is free.
How long until they arrive?
They are made to order and the eyelet work adds time. Free shipping is included and tracking is emailed on dispatch.
How do I care for them?
Wipe with a dry cloth, hang by the waistband, condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.
