Embroidering leather is harder than embroidering fabric. Every needle pass makes a permanent hole — hide does not close around a stitch the way woven cloth does — so a design has to be right first time and the stitch density has to stay within what the panel can take without perforating.
That is why embroidered leather is relatively uncommon and why the work is priced accordingly. It also means the design will not shift or pucker over time the way embroidery on stretch fabric can.
Studs alongside it
The studs are set through the hide and closed on the reverse rather than glued. Placed among embroidery they do something specific: embroidery absorbs light and reads as colour, while polished studs reflect it. Together the surface changes appearance depending on the angle and the light, which flat decoration alone cannot do.
Both are handwork, so placement varies very slightly between jackets. No two are identical.
Fit, care and styling
Regular fit on a women's pattern — narrower shoulder and shorter sleeve than a unisex block. Take your normal size over a tee or fine knit, one up for a knit. Hem at the waist.
Care is slightly more involved than a plain jacket: wipe the bare leather and condition only the unembroidered areas, keep water off the stitched sections, and never dry clean. If a thread ever loosens, have it re-stitched early rather than letting it run.
