All over means what it says: silver studs cover the entire shell of this cowhide jacket, front, back and sleeves, edge to edge. It is a stage jacket in the literal sense — the kind of thing built to catch stage lighting from every angle rather than to be worn on a school run. It is handmade in cowhide, which is the only hide heavy enough to carry this much metal without deforming.

Why cowhide for full coverage

Stud coverage this dense puts a lot of weight and a lot of fixing points onto one garment. A lambskin or nappa shell would stretch between the studs and the panels would ripple within months. Cowhide is thick and dense enough that each stud sits flat, the panels stay true, and the shoulders keep their line under the load.

It also means this is the heaviest jacket in the range. Pick it up before you commit to wearing it all evening. Most owners think the weight is the best thing about it; a few find it too much.

The stud work

Every stud is set individually through the hide and closed against a backing washer on the reverse. On a fully covered jacket that runs to thousands of individual fixings, which is why this takes the longest to build of anything we make.

The back is studded too. Most so-called all-over jackets leave the back plain because it is the slowest panel and nobody checks. This one does not.

How it wears

A fully studded jacket does not drape — it stands. The panels stay flat, the shoulders hold a hard line, and the whole thing keeps its shape whether you are wearing it or it is on a hanger. That rigid silhouette is the effect you are buying.

It also means almost no give. Take your normal size over a tee or thin top and size up if you want anything thicker underneath. Wear it with plain black and let it be the entire outfit.
