The High Mileage Biker Leather Vest is the brown counterpart to our black riding vest — same hard-wearing build, warmer tone. It is real leather with a zip front, side lacing for adjustment, and pockets that actually close. Brown hides age more visibly than black, so this one develops a used look faster: the elbows of the armholes, the area around the lacing and the front edges lighten first, and within a season it stops looking new. That is the point of buying brown.

Zip front rather than snaps

A zip closes faster than a row of snaps and stays closed at speed, which is why riders tend to prefer it. It also pulls the vest flat across the chest instead of leaving the gaps you get between snaps. The zip here is metal tooth on a reinforced tape, stitched to a backing strip so the pull load goes into the seam rather than into a single layer of hide.

The distressed brown finish

Distressed means the leather is finished with an uneven, worn tone rather than a flat even one. It arrives already looking lived in, with lighter high points and deeper colour in the grain. As you wear it, the natural wear pattern adds to what is already there rather than starting from scratch, which is why distressed leather ages faster and more convincingly than a flat dye.

It also hides scuffs, which makes it the practical choice for a vest that gets rubbed against seat backs and bag straps every day.

Build and fit

Seams are double stitched, snaps and eyelets are set through reinforced tabs, and the side lacing runs through metal eyelets rather than raw punched holes so the lace does not cut into the hide. There are zip pockets outside and an interior pocket at the chest. The back panel is plain if you want to add patches later.

Take your normal size to wear over a shirt or tee, and size up if you will wear it over a jacket. The side lacing gives a couple of inches of adjustment at the waist — useful across seasons, but not a full size of change.
