Men's High Quality Heritage Leather Pants | Natural Grain Cowhide – Leather Outlet
Heritage means the traditional way of making a leather trouser: heavy natural grain cowhide, a straight five-pocket pattern, double-stitched seams and no shortcuts in the parts you cannot see. There is nothing modern about this pair, and that is the point. It is built the way leather trousers were built when they were work clothing rather than fashion, which is why they last the way they do.

Natural grain cowhide
Natural grain means the hide surface has been left as it came rather than sanded flat and sprayed with a pigment coating. The grain is visible and the leather breathes, softens and develops a patina with wear. Coated leather does the opposite — it looks perfectly uniform on day one and then wears by having its coating rub off.
Cowhide is the heavy option. It starts firm and takes a few weeks of wear to soften, after which it moves with you and keeps doing so for years. If you want something comfortable immediately, our stretch and lambskin trousers in the same Men Leather Pants range are the alternative.
Built the traditional way
Double-stitched seams throughout with heavy polyester thread. Pocket bags backed and stress points reinforced. A faced waistband with belt loops set through reinforced tabs. A proper metal zip fly. None of that is visible from the outside, which is exactly why it is the first thing skipped on cheaper trousers.
The five-pocket layout is the standard jeans arrangement: two front scoop pockets, a coin pocket and two rear patch pockets.
How they age
This is the pair to buy if you want leather trousers that look better in five years than on day one. Knees and seat take on a slight sheen, the natural grain deepens in tone, and the hide moulds to how you stand and walk. Coated leather cannot do any of that.
Condition them twice a year with a neutral conditioner and they will outlast most of your wardrobe.
Fit and sizing
Traditional regular fit with a straight leg cut to break over a shoe. Take your normal waist size. Cowhide has no stretch, so go up rather than down if you are between sizes, or take the free Custom option and send waist, hip, thigh and inside leg. Hang them by the waistband rather than folding.
Wear them with boots and a plain shirt or a leather shirt from our Men Leather Shirts, or under a jacket from our Men Leather Jackets.
Sizes and made to order
Each pair is cut after you order. Standard sizes are XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL, plus Custom at no extra charge. Free worldwide shipping and secure checkout are included.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is natural grain cowhide?
Hide whose surface has been left as it came rather than sanded and coated. It breathes, softens and develops a patina with wear.
Do they need breaking in?
Yes. Heavy cowhide starts firm and takes a few weeks of wear to soften, after which it moves with you.
Are surface variations a fault?
No. Small variations in grain and tone across panels are normal on natural grain hide and are how you tell it from corrected leather.
How long will they last?
Properly cared for, years. This is the heaviest and most durable trouser construction we make.
What size should I order?
Your normal waist size, sizing up rather than down if you are between. Custom sizing is free.
How long until they arrive?
They are made to order. Allow around two weeks including free shipping; tracking is emailed on dispatch.
How do I care for them?
Wipe with a dry cloth, hang by the waistband, and condition twice a year with a neutral conditioner. Never machine wash or dry clean.
