High Quality Leather Varsity Jacket for Men
The varsity jacket started as American college kit and the shape has barely changed since: a body and sleeves, a snap front placket, ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, and pockets set at the hip. This one is made entirely in genuine leather rather than the usual wool body with leather sleeves, which gives it a cleaner, heavier look than a traditional letterman.

All leather rather than wool and leather
A traditional varsity uses a wool melton body with leather sleeves — two materials, two textures, and a visible seam where they meet at the shoulder. This one is leather throughout.
The difference is real. All-leather reads as outerwear rather than as sportswear, it blocks wind completely where wool does not, and it wipes clean instead of collecting rain. It is also heavier, and it costs more, because leather sleeves plus a leather body is more hide than a jacket this size would normally use.
The varsity details
Snap front placket rather than a zip — that is what makes it a varsity rather than a bomber, and it gives a clean flat front with no zip tape running up the centre. Each snap is set through a reinforced tab so it does not tear out of the hide.
Ribbed collar, cuffs and hem in a striped knit, which is the detail that ties the jacket to its college origins. The rib is a dense knit that recovers rather than stretching out — slack ribbing is how a varsity loses its shape permanently.
Two side pockets at the hip, set at an angle so they are usable standing or sitting.
Build
Genuine leather throughout with double-stitched seams and reinforcement at the shoulders. Interior pocket. Smooth lining so the jacket goes on over a hoodie or knit without dragging.
The back is left plain, which matters if you plan to add lettering or a patch later — the hide is heavy enough for a tailor to stitch onto without the panel distorting.
Fit and styling
Regular varsity fit, which sits roomier than a modern bomber by design. Take your normal size — room for a hoodie is already built into the pattern, so avoid sizing up unless you want it noticeably loose.
Jeans and trainers is the natural pairing and always works. It is the most casual leather jacket shape we make, so keep the rest of the outfit relaxed. See our Men Varsity Jackets, our Men Bomber Leather Jackets, or Men Leather Jackets for other shapes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the whole jacket leather?
Yes. Body and sleeves are both genuine leather, rather than the traditional wool body with leather sleeves.
Why snaps instead of a zip?
A snap placket is what defines a varsity. It gives a flat front with no zip tape up the centre, and lets the jacket be worn open cleanly.
Can I add lettering or a patch?
Yes. The back is left plain and the hide is heavy enough for a tailor to stitch onto. Message us before ordering if you want us to arrange it.
Will the ribbing stretch out?
Not with normal wear. It is a dense knit that recovers, which is what keeps a varsity in shape.
Can I wear a hoodie underneath?
Yes. The varsity fit is roomier than a modern bomber and already allows for it.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. Avoid sizing up unless you want it noticeably loose. Custom sizing is free.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth, keep away from direct heat, condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.
