Instead of permanently open mesh panels, this textile jacket has zip-closed vents at the chest, arms and back that you open when it is hot and close when it is not. Vents you control
Zip vents are the single most useful feature on a textile riding jacket, because weather changes during a ride and a fixed jacket cannot. Chest vents open to take air in, back vents open to let it out, and arm vents cool the part of you most exposed to wind. Closed, the panels seal against the shell so the jacket behaves like a solid windproof.
Every vent zip has a storm flap behind it, which is what stops water getting through a closed vent — the detail cheap jackets skip and the reason their vents leak.
Protection, liner and fit
Armour pockets sit at the shoulders, elbows and back and take standard CE inserts; we will confirm on your order whether armour is supplied. Abrasion-resistant panels are placed at the shoulders and forearms.
The liner is removable, which is what makes this a genuine three-season jacket: in with it for autumn and spring, out with it for summer. The cut is a riding fit with pre-curved sleeves, a longer back hem and a helmet-friendly collar, plus adjusters at the waist, upper arm and cuff so the jacket stays where you put it at speed.
Pockets
Zipped hand pockets, a chest pocket, an interior document pocket, and a rear pocket across the back. All outer zips are backed so they do not funnel water in.
