Why lambskin for a shirt
Shirt patterns have small pieces and tight curves — a collar stand, a cuff, a placket. Heavy cowhide will not turn those cleanly; it stands rather than folds, and the collar ends up looking like a costume piece. Lambskin is thin and flexible enough to behave like cloth, which is why every good leather shirt is made from it.
It is also far lighter to wear. A lambskin shirt weighs a fraction of a leather jacket, so you can wear it as a layer indoors without cooking.

Construction
A two-piece collar with a stand, so it rolls rather than lying flat. A reinforced placket behind the buttonholes — buttonholes are the first thing to fail on a badly made leather shirt, so they are cut and finished rather than punched. Buttoned cuffs, a separate shoulder yoke, and flat-pressed seams so nothing shows as a ridge under a jacket.
Fit and styling
Regular shirt fit. Take your normal shirt size for standard sizing, or better, use Custom. Wear it buttoned with trousers for a sharp look, or open over a plain tee with jeans. Black keeps it versatile in either direction.
