Men's Genuine Cow Leather Heavy Buckled Rocker Biker Motorcycle Vest
Heavy is the operative word. This rocker vest uses a thick genuine cowhide and closes with substantial metal buckles rather than snaps or a zip. It weighs more than any other vest in the range and it hangs accordingly — the panels stay flat, the shoulders hold a hard line, and the whole thing has presence rather than draping. If you have found leather vests flimsy, this is the opposite end of that scale.

Heavy cowhide
Most vests use a mid-weight hide because it is easier to work and lighter to wear. This one uses a thick cowhide, which is harder to stitch, harder to set hardware into, and considerably more durable. It starts stiff and takes longer to break in than a lighter vest — expect a few weeks — after which it softens without losing its shape.
The weight is the point. A heavy vest does not flap, does not ride up, and does not look like it is hanging off you.
Buckles rather than snaps
Buckle straps do something snaps cannot: they adjust. Set them loose to wear the vest over a leather jacket, tighten them to sit close over a t-shirt, and the vest fits properly in both configurations. Snaps give you one width and nothing else.
Each buckle is set through a reinforced tab so the pull load goes into a backing layer rather than a single thickness of hide. Straps are leather, and the hardware is solid rather than plated pot metal — on a vest that is buckled and unbuckled daily, cheap hardware is the first thing to fail.
Build
Double-stitched seams throughout with heavy polyester thread. Hip pockets outside, interior pocket inside the front, bound armholes cut to clear a jacket sleeve. The back is a single clean panel with no seam across it, ready for patches or colours.
Fit and styling
Regular fit, with real adjustment from the buckles. Take your normal size over a shirt or t-shirt; the buckles handle layering better than a fixed vest, but size up if a leather jacket is going underneath as a matter of course.
This is a rocker vest and it looks best treated as one: black jeans, boots, a plain tee or a band shirt. Over a jacket from our Men Leather Jackets it becomes the full riding layer. See the rest of our Men Leather Vests for lighter patterns.

Frequently Asked Questions
How heavy is it?
It is the heaviest vest we make, using a thick cowhide plus solid metal buckles. The weight is what makes it hang properly.
Does it need breaking in?
Yes. Heavy cowhide starts stiff and takes a few weeks of wear to soften, after which it keeps its shape.
How much do the buckles adjust?
Enough to take the vest from close over a tee to comfortably over a leather jacket.
Is the hardware solid?
Yes, solid metal rather than plated pot metal, which is what fails first on a vest buckled and unbuckled daily.
Can I add patches to the back?
Yes. The back is a single clean panel with no seam across it.
What size should I order?
Your normal size over a shirt or tee. Size up only if a leather jacket goes underneath as standard. Custom sizing is free.
How do I care for it?
Wipe the leather with a dry cloth, keep the buckles dry, and condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.
