Mens Leather Flight Bomber Jacket
The flight bomber sits between a plain bomber and a full aviator jacket. It keeps the ribbed collar, cuffs and hem that make a bomber comfortable, and adds the details that came off military flight jackets — a slightly longer body, angled chest pockets, and a sleeve pocket. Real leather throughout, cut for everyday wear rather than as a museum reproduction.

Flight jacket detailing
The features on this jacket all started as functional ones. The chest pockets are angled because a seated pilot reaches down and across, not straight forward. The sleeve pocket held a pen or a small tool where it stayed accessible with a harness on. The body is cut a little longer than a plain bomber so it stays covering the lower back when you lean forward.
None of that is essential today, but it is why the jacket has more going on than a plain bomber without looking cluttered — every line has a reason behind it.
The ribbed trims
Knitted rib at the collar, cuffs and hem is what makes a bomber warm out of proportion to its weight. The hem rib pulls the jacket in at the waist so wind cannot get up inside; the cuffs seal the wrists; the collar sits flat against the neck without a fastening.
Rib quality is the main thing separating a good bomber from a poor one. Cheap ribbing stretches out within a year and stops gripping, and once that happens the jacket loses its shape permanently. Ours is a dense knit that recovers.
Build
Real leather with enough weight to hang properly and take daily wear. Metal tooth main zip on a reinforced tape. Double-stitched seams, reinforced at the shoulders where the load sits. Hand pockets at the hip in addition to the chest pockets, an interior pocket, and a smooth lining so the jacket goes on over knitwear without dragging.
Fit and styling
Regular fit. Take your normal size — the pattern includes room for a jumper or hoodie underneath, so avoid sizing up unless you want it noticeably loose.
Brown leather works better with blue denim than black does, and it pairs with cream, olive, camel and grey. Boots or clean trainers both suit it. See the rest of our Men Bomber Leather Jackets, our B3 Bomber Jackets for full shearling, or Men Leather Jackets for biker shapes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this real leather?
Yes, real leather throughout, not faux or coated fabric.
How is a flight bomber different from a plain bomber?
Slightly longer body, angled chest pockets and a sleeve pocket — all details carried over from military flight jackets.
Is it a military reproduction?
No. It borrows flight jacket detailing but is cut for everyday wear rather than to a period specification.
Will the ribbing stretch out?
Not with normal wear. It is a dense knit that recovers rather than sagging.
Can I wear a jumper underneath?
Yes. Room for a layer is already built into the pattern.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. Avoid sizing up unless you want it noticeably loose. Custom sizing is free.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth, keep away from direct heat, condition twice a year. Never machine wash or dry clean.
