Cut for a riding position

A vest cut for standing upright rides up and bunches at the waist the moment you lean onto the bars. This one is cut with a slightly longer back than front, so it stays covering your lower back in a forward position rather than exposing it.

The armholes are set higher than on a fashion waistcoat. That is not about looks — a low armhole lets the vest slide backwards off the shoulders every time you reach forward, which is one of the most common complaints about vests worn on a bike.

Fasteners and pockets

Fasteners are heavy duty and set through reinforced tabs, so they hold under wind pressure and do not tear out of the hide. The hip pockets are set at an angle that stays accessible when seated rather than being pinned under your thighs.

There is an interior pocket inside the front for a wallet or phone, positioned so it does not press against you when leaned forward.

The hide
