Nylon is lighter than leather, sheds water rather than absorbing it, and wipes clean — which makes this the more practical winter jacket of the two, even though leather is the more traditional choice. The fox fur collar is the same: deep, standing high when closed and opening into a wide V across the shoulders.

Nylon rather than leather
Said plainly so there is no confusion: the shell of this jacket is nylon, not leather. That is a deliberate specification rather than a compromise, and it brings three real advantages.
Weight — a nylon shell weighs a fraction of leather, which matters on a jacket that already carries a heavy collar. Water — nylon sheds rain where leather absorbs it and has to be dried carefully. And cleaning — a nylon shell wipes down in seconds.

The V collar
Opened out, the collar falls into a wide V across the chest and shoulders. Closed, it stands high around the neck and seals the gap a jacket otherwise leaves open at the throat, which is where most heat escapes.
Because a collar this size carries real weight, the neckline and shoulder seams are reinforced. A nylon shell needs that reinforcement more than leather does, since the fabric itself has less body to resist the pull.
Warmth and lining
The shell blocks wind completely and the jacket is lined for warmth through the body, with the fur handling the neck. Combined, it is a genuine winter jacket rather than a three-season one.
Caring for fur
Brush the fur with a soft brush rather than wiping. Never soak it, and never use any conditioner or cleaner on it — both mat the fibres permanently. If it gets wet, shake it out, let it dry naturally away from heat, then brush it once dry. Hang the jacket with space around the collar rather than crushed between other clothes.
