Rock Punk Gothic Studded Motorcycle Fringe Biker Leather Jacket
This jacket puts two traditions on one shell: punk stud work and western fringing. Studs are set by hand across the shoulders and lapels; leather fringe hangs from the sleeves and the yoke and moves whenever you do. The combination has been a rock-stage staple for fifty years, from country-rock through glam to gothic, because static hardware and moving fringe read completely differently under light.

The fringe
Fringe is cut from the same hide as the jacket rather than added as a strip of a cheaper material, which is why it hangs with weight instead of curling. Each strand is cut to length and anchored into the seam, so the load sits on the stitch line rather than on a glued edge. Glued fringe is the single most common shortcut on jackets like this, and it separates within a season.
Fringe needs a small amount of care. It will settle into whatever position you leave it in, so run your fingers through it after the jacket has been packed or squashed and it will hang straight again.
The stud work
Studs are set individually through the hide and closed against backing washers on the reverse. They are concentrated on the shoulders and lapels — the parts of the jacket that stay still — deliberately kept away from the fringe panels, since hardware and movement fight each other if you put them in the same place.
Wearing it
This is a statement jacket and it does not share an outfit. Plain black underneath, jeans, boots, nothing else with texture or pattern. Fringe reads western with denim and gothic with all black, so the same jacket goes two ways depending on what you put under it.
It is heavier than a plain biker because of the studs, though lighter than a fully studded jacket. Take your normal size over a tee or thin knit and size up if you plan to layer. See the rest of our Studded Leather Jackets, or our Men Leather Jackets for plain options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the fringe real leather?
Yes, cut from the same hide as the jacket and anchored into the seam rather than glued on.
Will the fringe tangle?
It settles into whatever position it is left in. Run your fingers through it after the jacket has been packed and it hangs straight again.
Are the studs hand set?
Yes, each one is fitted individually and backed on the reverse so it does not work loose.
How heavy is it?
Heavier than a plain biker jacket but lighter than a fully studded one, since the hardware is concentrated on the shoulders and lapels.
What size should I order?
Your normal size over a tee or thin knit; size up if you plan to layer. Custom sizing is available.
How long does it take to make?
Longer than a plain jacket, since both the fringe cutting and the studding are hand work. We confirm timing after you order.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth on the leather, dry buff the studs, and hang the jacket so the fringe can hang free. Never machine wash, soak or dry clean.
