Shiny Metallic PU Faux Leather Shirt For Women
This is a PU shirt, not a leather one, and the metallic finish is the reason. Real hide cannot be made to reflect light like this — a true metallic sheen comes from a coating applied to a fabric base, which is exactly what PU is. So the material here is not a compromise on leather; it is the only way to get this particular finish.

Why metallic needs a coating
Leather reflects light diffusely because its surface has grain — thousands of tiny irregularities that scatter light in every direction. That is what gives hide its depth, and it is also why leather can be glossy but never truly mirror-like.
A metallic finish needs a smooth, continuous surface to reflect from, which means a coating. PU provides that. If you want the metallic look, this is the material that delivers it; if you want real hide, our Women Leather Shirts range has the real leather shirts.
What PU gives you here
Beyond the finish: very light weight, which matters on a shirt more than on a jacket since you wear it against you all day. A wipe-clean surface. Uniform colour with no panel-to-panel variation, which on a reflective finish would be obvious. And a price well below real leather.
What it does not give you is longevity. A coating eventually cracks at high-flex points — elbows, the collar fold, the placket — rather than wearing thin the way hide does.
Caring for a metallic coating
More particular than ordinary PU, because damage to a reflective surface is far more visible than damage to a matte one.
Never iron it, at any temperature — a hot iron melts the coating on contact and the mark is permanent. Never tumble dry. Keep it away from radiators. Wipe with a damp cloth rather than soaking, and avoid anything abrasive, since a scratch on a metallic surface shows as a dull line.
Hang it rather than folding it. A hard crease in a metallic coating creates a permanent bright line where the surface has stressed.
Fit and styling
Regular shirt fit with a button front. PU has more give than leather, so sizing is forgiving — take your normal shirt size, or size down for a closer fit.
A metallic shirt is an evening piece. Keep everything else matte and plain: black trousers, a dark skirt, plain shoes. Under a matte blazer or leather jacket it works well, since the contrast between finishes is the point. See our Women Leather Jackets for something to wear over it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this real leather?
No. It is PU — a polyurethane coating on a fabric base. Our real leather shirts are in the Women Leather Shirts collection.
Why is it not available in real leather?
Leather has grain, which scatters light. A true metallic sheen needs a smooth continuous surface, so it can only be achieved with a coating.
Can I iron it?
Never, at any temperature. A hot iron melts the coating on contact and the mark cannot be removed.
Does the metallic finish scratch?
Scratches show more than on a matte surface, since they appear as dull lines. Avoid abrasive cloths and cleaners.
Can I fold it for travel?
Hang it if you can. A hard crease in a metallic coating leaves a permanent bright stress line.
How long will it last?
Several good seasons with care. Heat and hard creasing are what shorten a coated finish's life.
What size should I order?
Your normal shirt size, or one down for a closer fit. PU has more give than leather.
