Why the zip runs off-centre

The asymmetric zip is not a styling choice — it started as a practical one. A rider leaning forward gets a hard fold down the centre of the chest, and a centre zip sits exactly in that fold, digging in. Moving the zip to one side puts it off the fold line and lets the overlapping panel double up as a windbreak.
