Denim rather than leather
The obvious differences are weight and care. Denim is a fraction of the weight of a leather jacket, so this is a spring and autumn piece you can wear all day without noticing it. And unlike leather it washes — hand or machine, cold water — which matters on a light-coloured jacket that will pick up marks.

The beading and stud work
Pearl beading is set across the panels alongside the stud detail, which is what gives the jacket its texture rather than relying on the wash alone. On denim, beadwork sits differently from how it does on leather — the fabric has give, so the beads move slightly with the garment instead of standing rigid.
Because of that trim, wash the jacket inside out and on a cold cycle. Hot water and a tumble dryer are what loosen set beading on any fabric garment.
The distressed finish
The denim is wash-distressed with ripped detailing, so it arrives already broken in rather than stiff and new. The advantage over a raw denim jacket is immediate comfort; the trade-off is that a pre-distressed finish will keep softening with wear, and rips tend to open slightly over time.
That is normal on distressed denim. If you want to stop a rip spreading, a tailor can back it with a patch from behind.
Fit and styling
Boyfriend cut — relaxed through the body with a slightly dropped shoulder. Take your normal size for that look, or size down if you want it closer. The stand collar can be worn up or turned down.
