The Brando shape
Four details define it, and all four came from early motorcycle jackets. The zip sits off-centre and runs diagonally, which lets the top fold open into wide lapels instead of closing at the throat. There is a belt at the hem that buckles at the side. The collar has a snap-down tab. And the pockets and cuffs are zipped rather than open.

The stud work
Studs are set by hand through the hide and closed against a backing washer on the reverse, so the prongs bear on metal rather than sawing into the leather as the jacket flexes. That washer is what a machine-pressed jacket leaves out, and it is why cheap studded jackets shed hardware.
The studs are concentrated on the shoulders and lapels, which keeps the weight manageable and stops them competing with the belt and zips lower down.

Short Brando cut ending at the natural waist. Take your normal size over a tee or thin knit. Studded panels have very little give, so size up if you plan to layer. The belt gives a small amount of adjustment either way.
