Women B3 Bomber Shearling Leather Jacket
This is the shorter B3. Where a full-length shearling coat covers the hip, this one is cropped to sit at the natural waist, which changes both how it looks and what it works with. A short shearling jacket balances high-waisted trousers and skirts in a way a long one cannot, and it does not bunch when you sit down. Real sheepskin throughout, wool left on the inside.

Why cropped works
Shearling is bulky by nature — there is no way to make a sheepskin jacket slim without making it thin, and a thin one is not warm. Cropping the body is the way round that. By ending the jacket at the waist rather than the hip, the volume stops where your body is narrowest and the rest of your silhouette stays visible.
It is also the practical choice if you sit down in the jacket a lot. A long shearling bunches at the waist in a car seat; a cropped one does not.
Sheepskin, and why it stays warm
The hide side is windproof and the wool side traps warm air, both from the same skin. There is no separate lining to shift, no seam for cold air to find, and no synthetic wadding to compress and thin out. That is the reason a sheepskin jacket is as warm in year ten as it was new.
The wool is left at full depth rather than sheared thin, and cuffs and hem are finished in sheepskin so there is no cold gap at the wrist or waist.
Cut for women
Drafted for a woman's frame rather than sized down from a men's pattern. Narrower shoulders, a shorter body, and a collar scaled to frame the face. Those changes are what make a shearling jacket suit rather than swamp, and they are why a men's B3 in a small never quite works.
Weight, fit and styling
Full sheepskin is heavy. There is no light version, and anything sold as one is not full sheepskin. Most owners find the weight becomes reassuring after the first week.
Take your normal size — the pattern already allows for a jumper underneath. Wear it with high-waisted jeans or trousers to make the most of the crop, with boots. Brown shearling sits better against cream, camel and denim than black. See our Women B3 Leather Jackets, our Shearling Leather Jackets, or lighter options in Women Leather Jackets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the jacket end?
At the natural waist. It is the cropped version rather than a hip-length shearling coat.
Is the wool real sheepskin?
Yes, the natural fleece of the same hide, not a fake fur lining.
Is a cropped shearling as warm as a longer one?
Per square inch, identical — it simply covers less. Pair it with high-waisted trousers so there is no gap at the waist.
Is it heavy?
Yes, as all full sheepskin is, though lighter than a full-length shearling coat because there is less material.
What size should I order?
Your normal size. Room for a jumper is already built into the pattern.
Can I wear it in the rain?
Light rain is fine. Wipe it and let it dry naturally, never near a heater, and never soak it.
How do I care for it?
Dry cloth on the leather, soft brush on the wool. Never machine wash, dry clean or soak sheepskin.
