Uniform detailing
Three details define the look. Epaulettes — leather tabs across each shoulder, buttoned at the collar end. Flap pockets at the chest, squared off and closed with a stud rather than left open. And a straight hem instead of the curved tail of a dress shirt, so it looks correct worn tucked or untucked.
All three are structural as well as decorative on a leather shirt. Epaulettes stiffen the shoulder line so the leather does not collapse there; flap pockets need reinforced backing so the flap does not curl. Both are done properly here rather than stitched on flat.
Handmade in real leather
The shirt is cut and stitched by hand, panel by panel. A uniform-style shirt has more pieces than a plain one — two pocket flaps, two pocket bags, two epaulettes, a collar with a stand, a reinforced placket — and every one of them has to line up symmetrically. On leather there is no second chance at a seam, since every needle hole is permanent, so this pattern takes longer to build than anything plain in the range.
The leather itself is chosen with more body than our draped shirts, because the structure needs a hide that holds a line.
Fit and styling
The fit is structured and regular. Take your normal shirt size. It is designed to sit cleanly rather than closely, so sizing down fights the pattern — if you want fitted, our shaped leather shirts are the better choice.
Worn tucked into straight trousers with a belt it is the sharpest way to wear leather without a jacket. Untucked with jeans it reads more casual.
