Moto against classic biker
A classic biker is cut with room, a wide lapel and a straight body. A moto jacket narrows all of that: the body ends higher, the sleeves are cut closer with shaping at the elbow, and the panels are smaller and more numerous so the jacket bends where your arms bend.
The reason that matters for a studded jacket is fit. Hardware makes a panel rigid, and a rigid panel on a loose jacket flaps and shifts. On a close moto cut the panels are already following your body, so the studs stay where they are meant to sit.
Sizing a close studded jacket
This needs care, because two things compound. A moto cut is already close, and studded panels have almost no give — so unlike a plain leather jacket, this will not relax into shape over a few weeks.

How the studs are set
