A fitted cut in leather
Fitting leather is harder than fitting cloth. Woven fabric eases into a curve; leather does not stretch back, so the shaping has to come from the pattern rather than from pulling the material. This shirt gets its waist from shaped side seams and back darts rather than from a smaller overall size, which is why it follows the body without pulling across the chest.
The collar is a sharp point collar with a stand, cut so it rolls rather than sitting flat. Because the shirt is meant to be worn buttoned, the collar and the front edge do more visual work here than on a relaxed shirt, and both are cut cleanly.
Press studs rather than buttons
The front closes with press studs instead of buttons. On a fitted leather shirt that is the better choice: studs distribute the load across a reinforced tab, where a buttonhole in a tight-fitting leather placket takes strain at a single point and eventually stretches. Studs are also faster and give the shirt its cleaner front line.
Each stud is set through a reinforced backing tab so it does not pull out of the hide.
