The Mens Black Leather Pants use aniline leather, which is the least processed finish available and the reason these look different from standard leather trousers. Aniline is dyed all the way through with no pigment coating on top, so the natural grain of the hide stays visible. It is the finish used on good furniture and quality jackets, and it ages rather than wears out.

What Aniline Leather Means
Most leather is finished with a pigment layer that sits on the surface, hiding the grain and giving a uniform colour. Aniline is dyed in a bath so the colour goes right through the hide and nothing covers the surface. You see the actual grain, including natural variation. It also feels softer, because there is no coating stiffening the top layer.
The Trade-Off
Being straight about it: aniline is more beautiful and less protected. Without a pigment coat it absorbs liquid faster and marks more readily than coated leather. In exchange it develops a patina with wear instead of eventually cracking and flaking the way a coated surface does. It is the finish to choose if you want the trousers to improve over years.
Fit and Break-In
Straight leg with a standard rise, cut like normal trousers. Order your usual waist size and size up if between, since leather does not stretch. Aniline is softer from new than coated leather, so break-in is shorter, and the knees and seat mould to you within a few weeks.
