Where the B-3 Pattern Comes From

The B-3 was standard issue for high altitude bomber crews who flew in open, unheated aircraft. Everything in the design solved a cold weather problem: a deep collar that could be strapped shut, a short body so it did not catch on seat harnesses, and thick shearling everywhere because there was no cabin heating. The Vintage Finish
